Tonight's game... Peavy vs Redman. I'll be at the game. Walking over in about 20-30 minutes to try to catch BP.
Listening to the Leitner show right now. Ted's talking to Steve Violeta, VP of business for the Padres I think. Somebody brought up the Toyota Terrace and the fact that only people who have tickets are able to access those restaurants. Violeta says that the people in those seats pay for that privilege and that it won't change. Though maybe in the future they'll consider it. But then he says, "who knows... maybe five... six... seven... eight, nine, ten years from now..."
Great to know that Padres will only be encouraging an elitist attitude and segregating their fans for only another decade.
OPEN THE RESTAURANTS TO THE MASSES!!! THIS ISN'T COMMUNIST CHINA!!! THIS ISN'T THE MIDDLE EAST!!! THIS IS AMERICA!!! EQUAL ACCESS TO BALLPARK RESTAURANTS FOR ALL BASEBALL FANS!!!
Seriously... It seemed like a jerky thing for Violeta to say, especially when he placated the caller by saying, "tell you what, you stick around after you're off the air and I'll set you up with 4 tickets so you can try those restaurants out."
Well, that's a big whoopty-doo for her, but what about the rest of us? Huh, Violeta? Jerk.
Anyways, can't let blatant discrimination ruin the game for me. I'm headed out shortly. Man, I'm psyched!
