It's been a year and a month since we've been moved into this new park called Petco, and a question that people often ask me is this:
Dex, what do you miss most about Qualcomm?
Most people who ask this question assume it's the palm trees. But it's not. It's actually the Rally's french fries. Karl Strauss garlic fries are OK, but those Rally's fries are a taste sensation. Besides the one in Qualcomm, the only Rally's I know of in San Diego is in Spring Valley, diagonal from the adult bookstore. Since I don't live out in east county anymore, I don't get Rally's.
Number 2 thing I miss most is the tailgate parties. I'll admit, I haven't tried to tailgate in the tailgate park, so maybe the tailgate parties are just as good as I remember them, possibly they're better, but since I haven't attended one yet, I miss those.
And that's it. I don't really miss the palm trees. To be honest, Petco Park is probably the only place in San Diego that you can stand and not have a palm tree somewhere in your 360 degree field of vision. If you're in San Diego, that's a good experiment, go someplace outdoors. Not in like an alley or anything. Turn all the way around. You're bound to see a palm tree. If you don't see one from where you're at, walk a few steps and try it again. There's palm trees everywhere.
So, no. I don't miss the palm trees.
I must be forgetting something really cool about Qualcomm. What does everybody else miss? Just about everything in Petco is better aside from ticket prices. Don't say ticket prices.
