Back in the days when I was young I'm not a kid anymore
But some days I sit and wish I was a kid again
I'd heard of WayBackMachine.org a little while ago, but I just got around to using it in the last few weeks. If you don't know what it is, let me explain. The creators archived the entire internet. You can go back and look at websites the way they used to be from 1996 to the present.
I like looking at the original Padres website from 1996. The big news of the day was the Padres negotiating with Fernando and trading for Sterling Hitchcock. I really liked it when all the MLB teams had their own sites. Now they all share the same look and info, but it's got no pizazz!. The early sites are so basic. All you needed to know back then was a little bit of HTML and you could be a well paid web developer. Ahh the good old days.
There are a ton of archived Padres websites and it's fun looking through the Friar John's Daily Diary, Tony's notes and the good times of yester year. If you find anything good drop a comment with a link.
