For the record, I'd like to have Wells back as much as the next guy, but I'd rather not pay anything for him. Scroll down this Globe article.

Wells is 42. I don't think he's getting any younger, but I could be wrong. I'm almost positive he's not getting any skinnier.

Do the Padres have that much of a lust for native San Diegans? I'm pretty sure the only thing our farm system consistently develops is pitching. Do we need a 42 year old dude in the clubhouse "leading"?
