So Jake Peavy is the NL Pitcher of the Month. Personally, I think it should've gone to Aaron Harang.

I think if Jake wins the Cy Young and the Triple Crown, the Padres should retire the number 44 right now. Don't even wait. Don't even let Jake wear it. Make him switch numbers. If he continues on to have a worthy enough career, retire that number too.

The first thing I would do as the next number-retiree would be to tell them I wouldn't let them retir my number until they unretired "number 6". To me that is possibly the worst abuse in the history of retired numbers. I'm down for Hoffman though...

It's not our catchers!  If you want to know how much time a runner has to get to second from first, time how long it takes a pitcher to go from set to release the ball, how long it takes the ball to get to the catcher, and then how long it takes the catcher to get the ball to second.  In our case, we have CY, Jake, and Maddux, all of whom take forever to release the ball.  By the time the ball reaches Bardo, he's got to make up time to get the ball there fast enough.  The fact that he's even close sometimes amazes me.  Not to mention the fact that Buddy and our organization don't emphasize catching runners stealing.  Our focus is on not letting runners on - so we don't ask our pitchers to throw out or change their mechanics.  It's not Bard's fault, or at least, not much.

No one in Denver cares about the Rockies at all.  It's all Broncos all the time.  You would think we were 20 games under 500 and 25 games out.  I mean the Rockies game was on page 8 of the sports section today behind 7 pages of Broncos and CU Football.

Once Facebook allowed posted photo albums
MySpace became expendable. The only reason I joined in the first place was because of my ex-gf.

Plus, MySpace is a cho-mo's heaven. Facebook is more segmented and has more privacy options.

He doesn't pitch like this when he's healthy.  I think our pitching situation has led to him pushing himself and Bud letting him.  And since our situation isn't getting better, I can only hope that 6 days rest will help him.  A lot.

When we lose the first game in the series by 8, win the next game by 8, but have to face your ace in the 3rd game, there's no reason to create bulletin board material.

I can only hope that going on 3 days rest is going to affect a fireballer like Peavy more than a pitcher like Livan Hernandez. (last start, after 3 days rest, 7IP, 0ER)
