Some light Fukudome reading

While waiting to see if Fukudome jerseys should be on your Christmas wish list, here's Armchair GM's writeup on the guy. Lots of videos in there as well. In other news, we have word that Fukudome's cat has confirmed that she is undecided as to whether or not to make the trip.

As long as we need something to read
how about this. Players on the Padres' roster who play outfield.
  1. Brian Giles
  2. Scott Hairston
  3. Jason Lane
That is all. Kinda scary, huh?

outfield
The outfield does not just rest on fukudome though, we could have a shot on Bay, Cameron, Stewart, Jenkins (Please God no), and maybe headley+prospect for kemp or ethier.  keep the faith ! (90s son)

It's 8:44 am in Japan - Wednesday
Wake up Fukudome and make a decision already.  More time must mean that he is fielding offers and counter offers which means a Padre 0-fer.  Other news, Pirates are interested in Barrett.  Could he be part of a trade for Bay or Nady?

fuku
Fuku is going to be ridiculous.  Perfect fit for the fathers, too.  why is being so patient, though?  it's so annoying.

Off topic, but this is hilarious...A Mitchell Report Draft!  haha..

At the tone
Japanese Time will be 11 43 and who knows how many seconds.

Kosuke? Are you awake yet? WAKE UP! Come to San Diego. Pretty please with a cherry on top. The Cubs are losers. Just look at their nickname. "The Losers". You'll make the right choice.

Holy Crap.
Just saw this. I guess Jake passed his physical today so the deal is done. I had not heard about the size of his option for 2013!

"The terms grant Peavy, 26, full trade veto powers over the next three years and limited trade powers from 2011-13. Already guaranteed $6.5 million in 2008 and $11 million in 2009, Peavy, per the extension, is due $52 million from 2010-12, including a $4 million buyout on a $22 million option for 2013."

$22 million option! I guess it really is conceivable that in the next five years, front of line starters may be commanding $25-$30 Mil. Wow.

Fukudome, Iguchi
Just read over at ducksnorts, KT in the State of the padres meeting with season ticketholders said Fukudome went to the cubs.

Iguchi signed with the Pads for one year.

Relax, all right? Don't try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

Ha ha ha
"Fukudome, 30, was the Cubs' top priority of the offseason - a left-handed, middle-of-the-order hitter who plays right field. He's expected to bat fourth or fifth for the Cubs."

4th or 5th? Seriously?

Completely un-Fukudome related
but I just got done with a flyer for my friends' bands; my fellow Padres fans will enjoy the Dishonor logo...
