Gaslamp Ball: Fire Coverage Day 2

Sign on San Diego is doing a great job with coverage but the site is running a bit slow with all the traffic. Here's the two fire maps that they have up right now:

Witch Creek Fire

Harris Fire

Qualcomm Stadium is an evacuation site and it sounds like it would be the best place to go.

Here's some pictures of the fire coming over the Northern side of Mt. Miguel early this morning.

This is so messed up.
I keep getting flashbacks to 2003 and what a shitty time that was, and then I read here that San Diego fires could be worse than those. Ugh.

Plus, in Irvine, we are an estimated 36 hours from three fires merging into one super-fire, the prospect of which had the local newspeople shaking in their boots.

It's time to crane kick someone in the f*cking face. -goose

Steele Canyon Evac Center
I live a few miles from there. When I woke up this morning, I heard that it was closed. I could see the fire as it crested Mt Miguel last night from Jamacha Rd. We're all packed and ready to go. I have the ladder against the house and the water hose is ready to go. I'm not leaving until its absolutely necessary.

Thanks, GLB, for keeping me occupied while I wait it out.

Matt Holliday never touched the plate and Tim McClelland knows it.

Have they evacuated you yet?
Any flames? I heard they have pretty good control of the fire down there. Have you heard any more news?

Voluntary Evacuation
I stayed behind since it wasn't mandatory for us. There were airdrops of water and retardant. Thanks to CDF, the fire didn't get too close. The wind helped to turn it toward Rancho SD.

I am home
At midnight the police cleared out those of us too stubborn to move earlier. Though I happen to know that the DA who lives 4 doors down never moved! Anyway, IMHO it was an overreaction as the fire has never even touched my zip code. Still, I packed one howling cat, one squirmy cat and Alex into the car with a bunch of crap and headed up to my parents in San Marcos. This morning I saw that the fire was still no where near and the winds had shifted. Then a neighbor who left when I did told me that he was home and all was fine so I just came home. Now my parents are under advisement again thanks to the shifted wind!! What a mess. Alex's school is closed all week now. It is literally 4 years ago all over again, only 10 times worse. Ugh.

I'm soooooo bored.
I'm about to head out to Arizona to watch the Chargers and then wait around for spring training to start while the fires are being cleaned up.
Let's go drink some beer.

Are they even playing that game?
There's talk of postponing it altogether.

Not sure.
I heard Goodell said they would play it either at Qualcomm, Sun Devil Stadium, Reliant Stadium, or the stadium in LA, wtf is it called?

New Cardinal Stadium
I guess there is some motorcycle show at the Cardinals' new stadium this weekend.  Why can't they just play there on Monday night?
I'm seriously going to go, as long as it is not in Texas if anyone wants to meet up.

motocross?
How long does it take to turn that back over?

Cowboys stadium?
Soundw like they might play it in the Cowboys' stadium, where it would be a "home game" for LT and less of home game for the Texans than Houston would be.
