Open Thread 4/5: Padres vs Gigantes
Light posting today as I'm still in the middle of finals and jbox is travelling. We try it again tonight with Estes vs Morris.
I'd really like a win tonight just so that we can start the season off with a quick series win.
I have to study tonight for a final tomorrow, but I'll be online if anybody wants to chat. Starting tomorrow, we'll get you back to your regularly scheduled posts.
Update [2006-4-5 22:25:34 by Dex]: Jbox must not have seen that I already posted an Open Thread, but he wanted you to see this:

Ah well
We'll get them next time.
Can you really call all those infield singles...
by Richard Wade on Apr 5, 2006 11:56 PM PDT up reply actions
Sure
You had the bad luck skate save and the walk to load the bases. Then that one infield single that really should have been scored, "Ball eaten" as Estes maybe didn't get a grip on it, but more looked like he just kinda froze. Then he walked in the next run.
It wasn't a very big meltdown, but it was not a very fortunate series of events.
Overall, I was pretty happy with the way they
It's too early in the season to start bashing guys like we did last year on Nevin for being unclutch.
However, when I start seeing bases loaded 1 out strand sessions, or runner on second, no out, and fail to advance him kind of stuff, THEN, I will start getting irritated.
Best of all, no BONDS homers. I like how Estes, knowing he wasn't going to pitch to him, gave him the close heat a few times (even hit him, everybody cheered, LOVE IT)
All I know is.....
