Hall of Fame Weekend for Jerry

One of the great things about being a Padres fan since '76 is the fact that you grow up thinking Jerry Coleman's all there is about baseball on the radio. Sure, there's the other guy in the booth with him who talks so fast and seems to disavow any knowledge of the Padres when they're losing, but the main guy is Jerry Coleman.

This weekend Jerry's receiving the Ford C. Frick award. They'll put his name up in the Hall of Fame Musem as one of the greatest broadcasters of all time. To commemerate, here's some links:

Ted Leitner
will join him one day in the Hall.  Together forever.

think again..
I hope not.  Did you hear Ted the other day in his 1090 show talking about his chances of getting in the Hall?  Sounded like he's really been gauging his chances and thinks he has an 'outside shot' if he continues calling games for another 10 or 15 more years (doing color commentary?!)  Is he even known outside Diego?  He talks a passionate game but lacks the warm personality of say a Jerry, or my little toe for that matter.

I've thought about it again
and I still love Ted.  Problem is nobody else likes him so his chances probably are slim.  But don't worry Ted you are in my Hall of Fame with Jerry.

I can't believe
Ted is losing to Vasgersian right now.  I am really shocked.
