Once upon a time I had a lot of baseball books and I finally decided that I really didn't need this many baseball books so I started giving them away to libraries and thrift stores and stuff like that. At the same time, I felt like I needed to do something a little extra so I decided to write the URL into page 19 of the book you're reading. If you're a Padres fan, then you'll recognize the significance of the number 19, or maybe if you just know of the Padres, then you'll know the significance anyway.
In any case, I just wanted a way for people to get to this secret page that I'm putting on my blog. Feel free to stick around and leave a comment. I probably kept all the really good baseball books, so there's a strong chance that you're reading something that I didn't feel worth keeping, but who knows.
Also, you may be pissed that I marked up your new/used book. For that, I'm sorry, but isn't it something that you're receiving this message? It's like a note stuck in a bottle, floating at sea and there you are on an island, waiting for it to arrive.
Or maybe it's the other way around. I dunno.
I hope you'll see fit to leave a comment or even become a Gaslamp Baller. I've been writing this blog for years now and, to be totally honest, there aren't a whole lot of Padres fans in the world. If they aren't your team, maybe you'll consider them for your second favorite baseball team.
Glad you found this letter. Hope you say hello.
Your friend in reading baseball books,
