Open Thread: 8/30, San Diego vs. Arizona

So seepy tired... need my seepy banky.  Jon and I are headed out to the game.  We're gonna hang in the park in the park at least for the first few innings if you want to say hello.  I think Jon Jon's girlfriend is wearing his her Gaslamp Ball shirt.

I hope we win today.  Picking up 4 games on the D-Backs is better than picking up only two.  We need to do this!  Chris Young and his oblique need to do this!

Please win Padres.  Pretty Please?

Go the Friar!

Update [2007-8-30 21:14:19 by jbox]:

Jack Cassel is starting Friday.

Jon will be wearing his Charger hat, I'll be wearing something cute, I haven't picked out my outfit yet. Jon's girl is gonna be wearing her Gaslamp Tee.

Here come the Friar!

Hockey
I've heard this type of thing in hockey a lot (remember hockey?).  Teams would be referred to as The Red Wing vs The Blackhawk.  I like it, as it refers to the team as one solid unit.

Methinks CY could have used
another week to recover. This reminds me of getting 50% of Peavy's stuff when he was hurt/recovering last year.

by JBro12 on Aug 30, 2007 8:06 PM PDT up reply actions

Does any one else...
...feel that when we sent Clay to Portland...and we put two gaping in holes in our rotation back-to-back...that we put too much pressure on CY to hurry back and fill one of those holes? Like we inadvertenly put him in a position of "Oh, I can't let the team down and allow them to throw a couple of hacks back-to-back in such an important stretch." You know? Am I crazy?

His location is poor so far...and he looks like it's the 8th inning instead of the 4th. He looks tired already.

The first time I saw him play at Petco, I was shocked at how good his arm (and overall defense) was, I didn't think he had a good rep as a fielder.
