Park at the Park tips?

Hello Gaslamp Ballers!

I'm taking a family vacation to San Diego next week, and have some Park at the Park tickets for the Giants game on Sunday the 17th. I was hoping to get a few suggestions from the community about what to expect, things to see while at the park, what food item(s) we must try, etc. Some specific things I was wondering:

  • From pictures I can find, it looks like some (most?) of the view of the field is obstructed - is there a "good" place to sit where we can see some of the field?
  • Are there places to definitely avoid sitting at?
  • Any kid-friendly (ages 7 and 4) activities at the park that are a must to check out?
  • If I leave my blanket to take my kids to the bathroom, will I come back to find someone sitting on it eating all my picnic food?

Apologies if this has been covered before, I tried searching but couldn't come up with anything - though it is possible (probable) my search skills are terrible. I'm grateful for any info you can provide!

Thanks!
