Gaslamp Ball All-Star Game tips

Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Hey Gaslamp Ballers, if you are planning to attend any ASG events here are tips to help you enjoy it. I am looking forward to this. I got my tickets 2 weeks ago and have been counting down the days.

  • The San Diego/Ted Willams chapter of SABR is having a special event called "Talking Baseball". It is free and open to the public. It will be held Sat July 9th at SD Central Library Neil Morgan Auditorium from 9:30 am to 6 pm. I will be there.
Here is the link for info about the event
  • With parking around downtown very limited and expensive, you should use public transit. Go to sdmts.com for bus and trolley info. They also have info what trolley stations have available parking. Not all trolley stations do. For North County, go to gonctd.com for bus and Coaster/Sprinter info.
  • If you are going to the Fan Fest, here is the link for Fan Fest Info. FYI, there will be free Wifi at the Convention Center. There also will be a concession stand there. You will not be allowed to bring any food or drinks period. If you are getting autographs it is one auto per person and the only thing you cant bring are large bats. If you want to buy those BP jerseys, ShopMLB.com will have a stand that sells those and more. I went to the Fan Fest in Anaheim in 2010 and it is worth your time to check it out.
  • You are wondering when Petco Park open for the Futures Game/HR Derby/ASG. Here are the times. Futures Game= opens at 2 pm. HR derby= opens at 2pm. ASG=1:30 pm. I advise you to get to Petco Park early so you can get into the ball park first.
  • I know some of you are thinking "Kristin IDC about the ASG.". You should not let this sour Padre season not make you be excited about it. Fox Sports San Diego on July 4th will be showing replays of the 1994 ASG at 10:30 am & the 1992 ASG at 1:30 pm. Here is the link.
  • I hope this fan post can be of help for you. I want every Padre fan to have a good time while wearing the brown. :-)
