Can we consider someone OUTSIDE of the Padres' culture? This reminds me a lot of the Chargers' search before we landed Telesco; we were so insistent on hiring on Jimmy Raye just because he knew the Chargers, but because we did our due diligence, we found someone with fresh ideas AND was smart enough to find talent. The Padres reconsidering KT or Omar Minaya is a joke.
Here's a name to consider: Kim Ng. Yes, I know she currently is in the hated Dodgers' front office, but somehow, I think she would be really capable. She's been in the business for over 20 years, been part of winning front offices, and I think it would be great socially if we offered a female individual an opportunity, not because of sex, but rather due to her competence. She tried for the GM position before, I believe, and lost to (who else?) Josh Byrnes. That's just an opinion; please let me know if there's something I'm missing. Thanks.
