This is new this year, right? I have never seen it before (or I just didn't notice it when I've walked by in the past). I think this is pretty cool. Way freaking overpriced, but cool. Seriously, how often can you buy game used memorabilia from a game while you are there or even just a couple days later? Not everyone's lucky enough to catch a foul ball or home run. It's a great way to get a keepsake.
They have jerseys, bats, balls, and line-up cards. Although, I think the only reasonable deals are the game used baseballs from "non-special" games. They are $39.95. I can live with that. Want a Cashner strike-out ball from that 11 strike-out 1 hitter against the Tigers? $200 you say? No thanks. I love Cashner but not $200 love...now if they cut off a lock of that sweet-ass mullet and taped it to the ball and mounted it on deer antlers...I kid, I kid.
Anyways, I went to the extra innings Monday night game where we walked off in 12. It was awesome. This was my nephew's first Pads game. I wrote a little bit about it in the comments section here. Well, we walked by the game used memorabilia booth last night and I asked if they had any balls from Monday night's game. They did, and I bought two. I got a ball-in-the-dirt pitch from Collins to Alonso right before he hit that bloop double in the 12th (right before Venable hit the walk off), and a foul ball hit by Deno off Coleman to start off the bottom of the 12th right before he singled. Pretty cool, right? So the plan is to get them signed by Alonso and Deno, respectively, and get my game tickets signed by Venable. I'll get a couple cases and give one of them to my nephew when he's old enough not to want to play with it.
