After a two-game sweep by the visiting Minnesota Twins, our Padres look to get back in the win column tonight as they open up a four-game set against the Chicago Cubs.
Eric Stults will try to get us started with another solid pitching performance. He is coming off a season-high 6 2/3-inning effort in which he kept the Rockies to three runs at Coors Field but was tagged with a loss. In his three most recent outings against the Cubs, he is 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA.
Stults' opponent, Jake Arrieta, is making his fourth appearance of the season. He hopes to last longer on the mound tonight after going only four innings his last time out. The right-hander has yet to reach six innings in a start this year. He didn't last very long in his only career outing against San Diego, either. in 2010, as a Baltimore Oriole, he gave up six runs in only three innings of work at Petco Park.
Tune in at 7:10 PDT as our Friars, decked in glorious brown and gold, try to avoid their sixth loss in eight games.
