Hey there fellow Gaslamp Ballers. I decided to post this for several reasons: 1) I was bored and organizing my cards, 2) It's the offseason and anything Padres related is good, and 3) something for you to do at work on Monday morning.
These are some of my Padres baseball cards that I have. Most of these are current Padres, but I included some older guys too.
Gaslamp Baller MrBarneyDangles will recognize some of these as he sent them to me. So thanks. The rest I've collected either growing up, pulled from packs, or from Listia, which Gaslamp Baller TheThinGwynn also uses to collect cards. Incidentally, he is probably the only person who will read this diary.
Without further ado:
These are the three Tony Gwynn rookie cards. 1983 Donruss, Fleer, and Topps. The Topps version is far more valuable than the other two, for some reason.
More Tony Gwynns. The bottom two are inserts from the newest Topps sets. The bottom left one is about a quarter-inch thick for some reason. The bottom right is shiny. The top left is an Upper Deck hologram set from the early 90s. I have the Mickey Mantle as well. The top right is Tony's second year card, hand signed.
Some Dave Winfield. Bottom left is a 1979, right is a 1981. The top is a cheap bat-card from Upper Deck I found on Listia.
The Nate Colbert is one of my favorite cards. It is the first year there were Padres cards, 1969.
This is the Jedd Gyorko section. In the right column, you've got his 1st Bowman (parallel) and Bowman Chrome. The Chrome is an auto card, with a really terrible signature. Bottom left you've got a Bowman Platinum prospects insert, and the top left is his professional rookie card.
The Rymer Liriano section. The two row you've got a Bowman's Best and 1st Bowman. The bottom you've got a bad-ass Inception jersey/auto combo.
A couple of arms that we got from Texas in return for Mike Adams. Erlin prospect insert and Wieland big league rookie card.
Casey Kelly has lots of cards from being a top prospect for the Red Sucks, But here are his Bowman and Topps rookie cards. Plus a Bowman Chrome mini.
A couple of Austin Hedges cards. I wish I had more Austin Hedges cards.
Three Yasmani Grandal rookie cards. The Topps set had two different rookie cards for some reason.
The last two sets are random/singles/I don't know how else to categorize them.
There is two Bowman Platinum autos of two prospect pitchers, Keyvius Sampson and Joe Ross (younger brother of Padre Tyson Ross, for those of you who will also be surprised to learn that Chris Young and Will Venable went to Princeton, and Aaron Harang went to SDSU). The bottom right is a Triple Threads (yes Topps/Bowman has about 50 different brands since they have an exclusive license with MLB, although the other brands have a license with MLBPA) Cory Luebke jersey/auto combo.
So that's that I guess. Hooray!
