The Padres' short season single-A affiliate, the Eugene Emeralds, played the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (Giants affiliate) tonight. The game was tied at 1 in the 4th inning when the rain at PK Park finally became too much and the Ems experienced their first rain delay of the season.
However, the guys didn't let the weather dampen their spirits. A player from the Volcanos started busting a move at home plate.
Rain delay continues, but not without entertainment as a Salem player busts out some SERIOUS dance moves at home plate. Lets. Get. Weird.— Eugene Emeralds (@EugeneEmeralds) August 26, 2013
Not to be outdone, Ems pitcher Genison Reyes came out of the dugout to show off some moves of his own. And thanks to the brilliant mind behind the team's Twitter and Instagram accounts, we were able to see it for ourselves.
Now if that wasn't enough, the mascots wanted to get in on the action too! Rally Squatch and Sluggo got a little wild.
As the Ems and Volcanoes were about to get back on the field, the rain started pouring once more. Eventually the game was called and the two teams will resume play in a double-header tomorrow to conclude the series. It will be the final two games played at PK Park this season.
