The Padres will be looking to get back to four games under .500 as they take on the division co-leader Diamondbacks tonight in the second game of a three game set. Andrew Cashner will be making his seventh start of the season, opposing Arizona's Wade Miley.
Miley, runner up in last year's NL ROY race, picked up this season where he left off. He has faltered of late, though, losing three of his last four starts and seeing his ERA climb from 2.37 to 3.67 in that time. Miley has never had much luck against the Padres, going 1-3 with a 6.28 ERA over five games.
Cashner seems to be settling into his role as a starter recently, going at least 6.2 innings in each of his last three starts. He won two of them and took a no decision in the other, shaving over a run off of his ERA.
Carlos Quentin is in the linwup for an incredible second game in a row. He's been hitting more like himself lately, picking up hits in five of his last six games, including a 3-3 showing last night that pulled his BA above the Mendoza Line.
