I'm sure someone has already asked this question, BUT

Okay, we had a rash of injuries last summer. Dozens of guys were getting hurt left and right. Terrible, terrible luck, we all agreed. Youngsters were called up, they played very well, the team "clicked" (as it has had tendency to do so the past few seasons) in the second half, and after the season ended we all couldn't wait for this spring and the summer: when the guys came back, they'd join the kids and we'd try to make a run. Good plan, right?

But the new year rolls around, and what do we see? More injuries. Ineffective pitching and offense (obviously a blanket statement). I think we're beyond cursing the baseball gods, because it's pretty obviously they hate us. This leads me to wonder: why has nobody put any heat on the training staff? Surely some injuries are a surprise, but why are so many arms getting destroyed so quickly? What is going on?

(This is the part where other posters explain things to me so I can understand.)
