Chris Young had four starts in Spring Training with the Washington Nationals and put up a 2.25 ERA. They're so deep for starting pitchers, though, they cut him.
I don't see how this isn't gift. We're hardly deep as long as two key SPs are awaiting Tommy John return, and Young's had good stuff throughout his career when he's not been hurt (which, admittedly, has been ALL THE TIME). If he clicks, he's the sleeper of the year. If he gets shelled or hurt (former: unlikely in Petco, even the "new" Petco; latter: quite possible), well, there are a bunch of guys lined up to come off the DL in a couple months.
The fact that I took a last-round flier on him for my H2H rotisserie league has nothing to do with this, I swear. I always thought Young had good stuff.
