Our Padres finish up the two-game series at the Alamodome today as Jason Marquis takes the mound. He is scheduled to go five innings against Texas in his final exhibition start before the regular season begins on Monday. Marquis' last Cactus League start was also against the Rangers. He closed out a strong offseason in Peoria with an equally strong win over Texas on Monday, tossing six innings of one-run ball while striking out five batters. This Spring he boasted a 2.00 ERA and collected 12 strikeouts in 18 innings of work over five outings.

According to this video preview from Scanman at the Alamodome, Marquis will only go three or four innings, and we'll also see Tyson Ross and possibly Andrew Cashner get some work in. With Ross named the no. 5 starter, this will be his last chance to get a couple innings before he makes his Padres regular season debut week from now against the Rockies.
