Sale of Tucson Padres nearly complete
Jeff Moorad's sale of the Tucson Padres to El Paso based MountainStar sports is "in the 9th inning" according to Moorad. Moorad's group, who formerly attempted to buy the big Pads has been negotiating for several months with MountainStar about a sale and move of the Padres AAA affiliate to El Paso, Texas. That sale and move appears to be nearly complete with a sale price of $20 million for the team and an expected move date of 2014.
