I went to the game, everybody. It was cool. Some kind of statue was unveiled. The Padres won.

The Jerry Coleman ceremony before the game wasn't as tear-jerking as the Hoffman number retirement, but it was still good. Uncle Teddy did his usual excellent MC work introducing all the guests before calling Jerr up to the podium. Typical Jerr, he spent a couple minutes talking about how great Bud Black has done this season; anything to get the spotlight off himself. The tribute video they played for him was a tour of the west coast. The Gwynn, Mud, Enberg were there, to be expected, but then there was Bochy, Flannery, and Jon Miller. I don't know who I was expecting, but was that it? Some Giants? Vin Scully was on it, too, and the crowd applauded the sight of him; deservedly so. But those other dudes? Thanks, no thanks.

We scored our run on a p effin gnar gnar bone crusher in the bottom of the 2nd. The second baseman and right fielder tried to give each other a high speed butterfly kiss. It was the awkward moment where you're cheering for a run to score while two enemy players are writhing around on the ground, probably crying. Then you act concerned until the trainer either takes them off the field or leaves them in, then you applaud for some reason. You know the one.

I arrived at Hodad's in time to watch Zeus Goose's 3-run bomb. Didn't high-five any strangers, though. Then I ate the foods.

From there I went to find Jodesy who was hanging out at Neil the Beerman's, as previously reported. She was surrounded by a ton of Internet people, Gaslamp Baller and otherwise. She's a big deal. During this time the Rockies tried scoring runs. It was borderline offensive to Jerry Coleman Day and America itself. I left to go find a nice cool place to sit for awhile - it was ridic hot out there.

Speaking of borderline offensive, there were only about 27k people there for Jerry's big day. What's up, Padres fan, you hate heroes? Too busy to see history? Can't take a little time to honor a legend? Sometimes, you disgust me, Padres Fan Who Wasn't There. Now get out of my face.

I found Jodesy again and watched Gregerson close it out while we made fun of Sam. It was a good game, y'all. See you tomorrow.
