CK is killing us! This is, of course with perfect hindsight, but one can argue that we would have won his two losses. We lost narrowly but also scored a ton of runs but coming up short. So instead of being 6.5 back, we could be 4.5 back. Not smack in the middle of the race, but another series sweep away from being smack in the middle of it.
No way of knowing ahead of time that: 1) he would have such bad outings after such a stellar initial one; 2) that we would continue to play out of our minds; 3) that he WC second spot aspirants would collectively suck so badly.
My guess if 2) and 3) continue, Casey is going to be on a very, very short leash on subsequent starts. I get he is hopefully our 2-3 starter of the future, so that is clearly vital, but we have battled to the crazy fringe of contention.
