I've decided to try to start a weekly fanpost. Essentially a show and tell with some of my padres stuff. Mostly focusing on giveaways, but perhaps some other stuff as well.

This is my Tony Gwynn silver bat. I'm pretty sure this was a Frequent Friar (Compadres) giveaway instead of a normal at the gate giveaway. I loved the Frequent Friar program. I was a bastard; I would swipe cards for people who weren't even at the game. I loved how the kiosks used OS/2 Warp.

The ball is included for scale. It's a good sized bat in terms of length. I wish it was a bit thicker though.

The bat was from Tony Gwynn's final season - 2001. The date of 9/22/01 was supposed to be the date of Gwynn's last game. Well, 9/11/01 happened and Gwynn's last game was actually 10/7/01. Lucky for me actually as I was unable to get tickets to the regularly scheduled last game, but was able to get tickets to the rescheduled game. Rickey Henderson got his 3000th hit that game too which made it extra special.
