Padres ground out, strike out, then shut out. Lose 6-0

Braves' starter Tim Hudson breezed through the Padres line up, like a fart through yoga pants. The Pads' game plan of grounding or striking out in every at bat failed to get them the win they weren't really trying for. Hudson left the game after 6.1 innings of scoreless ball to a standing ovation.

The Braves didn't have any problem scoring like they did yesterday. Their scoring siren was going off all night. Seniors ducked and covered among peanut shells in response as they had been taught from Cold War drills in the 50's. The scoring went something like this...Freedie Freeman grounded into a fielder's choice to score Michael Bourn in the first. In the bottom of the 5th Dan Uggla hit a home run to left field. In the 6th Chipper JOnes singled to center to score Freeman from second. Finally, Martin Prado put the game well out of reach with a 3 run homer in the 7th.

The only good that came from the game was the Major League debut of the newest Padre Tom Layne. I'm not going to tell you what happened. You'll just have to watch.... HE STRUCK OUT THE SIDE!
