as us true padres fans know, the padres short season A ball affiliate, the magnificent eugene emeralds will make the 90 minute bus trip north to battle the hated salem-keizer volcanoes, property of none other then the san francisco giants and their insufferable animal-hat-wearing fan base. i will be making the drive down from portland with my 80-year-old pops to provide the pads/emeralds with a contingent of fans. if you're in the area and are a fellow padres fan (why else would you be reading this if you weren't?) you should join to experience the sheer uninhibited joy of metaphorically deucing on anything affiliated with the giants. also the food there is pretty damn good considering the level of baseball and whatnot. go pads/emeralds.
