Unable to even up the series last night, our Padres once again find themselves just trying to escape a series without being swept. This time against a red hot Rangers team seeking their sixth win in a row tonight and their second straight sweep.

Tonight our Padres will face rookie phenom Yu Darvish. His last time out, he went eight solid innings against the Astros, giving up just two runs on seven hits and a couple of walks while throwing 11 strikeouts.

Anthony Bass will toe the rubber for San Diego and try to rebound from a few rough starts. He has lost his last three decisions and has posted an 8.89 ERA in his last five starts. His most recent start was particularly bad. He gave up seven earned runs on eight hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings. Hopefully today he can put that behind him and help our Padres get back in the win column.

After the A's series, it seemed like our boys were plowing through interleague play. Coming into this Rangers series, they had gone 6-3 on the year against AL teams, but that record has now fallen to 6-5. The Rangers, who have gone 11-3 in interleague play this season, are taking away one of the few things Padres fans have found to be proud of, so we need to go out there are salvage this game and keep above a .500 interleague record.

GO FRIARS!! KEEP THE FAITH!!
