"I found you invisible man!" "Ah damn! How'd you know I was there?" "The helmet, you fool! You forgot to take off the helmet!"
They said it couldn't be done. The Padres with their paltry payroll. The Phillies spending enough money to buy the World Series Championship as one might buy a bottle of vanilla soy milk and a box of Fiber One.
And yet, here we are today.
Oh sure. It was a battle right till the end, but the Padres, using approximately 10% of their already bottom basement payroll defeated the Phillies who were just a little too brash and a little too confident.
Shane Victorino didn't let up. He's been a Padre. He knows what kind of heart these boys have. So he did everything he could to tame the beasts from San Diego with a 3-4 night including a double and a walk.
But the rest of them were stunned as the Padres marched all over them, like a boss, and evened up the series.
Like a boss.
