Several Padres were battling a stomach bug today, which resulted in some late scratches and also resulted in Yonder Alonso just not feeling like he wanted to be on the bases with his requisite double of the game so instead he hit a home run, the first of his season, to go along with a 2-4 night with a run and 2 RBI.
Clayton Richard, who doesn't seem to pitch that well when the Padres don't provide runs, and not much better when the Padres do provide runs might be a little bit lucky that the rotation is as banged up as it is. I mean, considering a healthy rotation next season of Luebke, Bass, Wieland, Volquez, Moseley/Erlin/Kelly and Clayton's manly physique may find itself on the trading block.
But we need him and we got him and we'll continue to roll with up.
In other news, the Padres need the next two to take this series.

Friar Fever, with 133 comments is the only one in triple digits and tonoxtono came in second with 72. Apparently, nobody else is as impressed as Friar Fever that Yonder Alonso is a masher.
