The Padres go into the end of another series looking to avoid getting swept. Let's review how this month has gone...
So as it stands, we're only 8 games back, which, between you and me, is totally doable. And by doable, I mean we were able to fall 8 games back.
Look at it this way, if we get a little 9 game winning streak going, we can get back to .500. That would be good, right? Maybe our goals should be smaller. Like get in front of the Diamondbacks. If we can get in front of the Diamondbacks, that will be cause for celebration. It's the little things.
Tonight though, we have the Washington Nationals who are making their run at the postseason early. The Nationals are hot like lava and it's up to Opening Day Starter Edinson Volquez to cool those hotties off.
If you're headed to the game, the World Famous San Diego Chicken will be there, doing his thing. I will also be there doing my thing, which, these days, involves a lot of sighing and saying things like, "Oh well" and "Man, really?" and "Blech".
However, I have faith that the Padres are trying their darndest. Just keep on keeping on, Padres.
GO TEAM GO.
