More split squad action today. Padres will play the Cubs on the road and the Reds at home.
Scheduled to pitch are Anthony Bass for four innings, Ernesto Frieri for one, Micah Owings for three, and Miles Mikolas for one. Bass, who is competing for a bullpen spot to start this season is making his fifth start of the Spring. He has pitched well thus far, having racked up an ERA of 2.00 in his previous four outings.

Nick Hundley is back in the lineup against the Reds today, having been out since March 14th with a sore oblique. Clayton Richard will pitch five innings. He started a minor league game last week on the off day and pitched very well. According to Darren Balsley, it may have been the best he's ever thrown. He will be followed in relief by Andrew Cashner, Huston Street, Dale Thayer, and Matt Palmer.
