Orlando Hudson's problem last year: He was playing "too hard."

I was almost buying the BS Bill Center has been trying to sell this winter about how Orlando Hudson is going to rebound in 2012. But after reading Center's story about the dog (and glancing at Corey Brock's echo of Center's story), I'm now convinced that's impossible.

In both articles, the dog whimpered, "I guess when you go out and play hard, things like that happen."

The dog seemed to be saying that all his problems stemmed from a couple injuries that twice landed him on the disabled list. But the real problem was his attitude. According to reports, he was always the first guy out of the clubhouse. According to reports, he yucked it up with opposing players who reached second base, like losing was fun to him. According to reports, he dogged it on defense. According to reports, he alienated his teammates.

To fix his true problems of last season, Hudson needs an attitude adjustment. That obviously has not happened. Not only does he believe his problems stemmed from playing too hard, he believes really bad seasons like last year "happen to everyone." In other words, his lousy attitude, his laziness had nothing to do with his poor performance.

Blueberry Pancakes predicts Orlando Hudson will be on the bench by June.
