Adrian Gonzalez: "People have to eat, whether it’s chicken or steak."
Apologies if this is already a repeat for some of you, but I was amused by it.

“People have to eat, whether it’s chicken or steak. And for those who don’t feel like having either of those, stop by your local Taco Bell for a Five Buck Box.”

"But Mr. Gonzalez, what if we don't have chicken or steak?"
Adrian’s Response:

Ehhhh, I don't deserve a signature...
Aah, he's just throwing nonsense at the Boston sportswriters, who ask nonsense questions.
I grew up back there and followed the last years of Ted Williams’ career. You
don’t want to know the things Ted said about Boston writers. Adrian isn’t polished
at diplomatically bullshitting the sports writers there, but he’s going about it the
right way, refusing to take the bait they dangle in front of him.
The Boston sports writers are caustic, largely uninformed, and always looking
for controversy, even if they have to manufacture it. They ask leading questions,
trying to get players to criticize teammates, coaches and the front office As a
group, they have the worst judgement.
I was back there 10 years ago when the John Henry-Larry Lucchino group won
the bidding. One paper headlined, “The Fix Is ON!” because the highest bidder
was bypassed. The JH/LL group was the only one committed to preserving
Fenway Park and had cash, not financing like the top bidder had. Who was the top
bidder who lost out? Boston parking lot tycoon Frank McCourt! Bud let him buy
the Dodgers on credit instead.
Adrian may be a mushmouth in his answers, but see if you can find the leading
questions he’s trying to answer without causing trouble. The Boston sports writers
rarely give you the wording of the actual questions they ask.
