So it looks like the Padres have decided to re-sign Jason Marquis to a $3M contract. Despite the cynical tone of the title, I'm fairly ambivalent about the announcement. Last year was a bad year for Padre pitching depth, and we lost nearly everybody capable of filling in at the major league level which left us reaching for guys like Ross Ohlendorf, Eric Stults, and---you guessed it---Jason Marquis.
