Yet another late post. Hopefully this isn't turning into a trend. Today I have my favorite giveaway of the past ten years or so. The best giveaways of the 90s of course was the first year or two that they did floppy hats. Soccer Scarf! The item was so popular that the padres store now sells them (in both current colors as well as retro brown and yellow)...more about that some other week though. The scarf I'm showing today is the promotional one though
Both sides of the scarf are the same. It's a bit thin, but still quite functional. A fun fact: I've only been on the jumbotron twice....one of those times I was wearing this scarf. It's magical. A sad fact: I've been to over a couple hundred MLB games and I've never gotten a homerun or foul ball (I do mostly sit top deck though)
The scarf was made in honor of the World Cup in 2010 I imagine. I lived in South Africa for 3 months in 2009...that country is a mess, I don't know how they ever pulled that thing off. I saw a cricket game down there, which really is nothing like baseball, no matter what dumb people try to tell you. Anyways, I had decided that I would need to visit my parents in San Diego at some point in the summer of 2010. Which is really a decision based on what weekends the Padres are in town. I picked the soccer scarf weekend. I'm pretty sure the game was against Vedder Cup rivals Seattle.
