Playoff baseball, where fans find reasons to root for their enemies. Personally I don't have a cock in this fight so I likely won't be paying too much attention. But I am rooting for certain teams to lose more than others. I wish they all could lose but unfortunately Selig insists on having at least one winner.
It's going to be a busy day with 4 games stretching from the wee hours of the morning to late at night.
First up is the Reds vs. the Giants. Matt vs. Mat. Doesn't Latos look like he's chloroforming his teammate in the picture above? Anyway, despite the recent anti-Padres comments that Latos made, I'd rather see the Giants eliminated today. It'll be fun to watch all the "die hard" Giants' fans switch their allegiance to the Oakland A's by tonight only to be eliminated again.
Next up is the Cardinals vs. the Nationals. I don't get how the Cardinals play mediocre every year throughout the regular season and then catch fire and win the World Series... every... year. Meanwhile the Nats own the regular season and find themselves playing catch up. It doesn't seem fair, so in the interest of fairness I'd like to see the Cardinals lose today.
Then it's the Yankees vs. the Orioles. The Orioles have come so far, lookin' all cute in their new/old uniforms and yet you just know the Yankees are going to beat them, because that's what the bookies decided back in November of last year.
Finally the Tigers vs. the A's. I hate that Padres fans root for the A's. For some reason they see some similarity between the two teams. I see Oakland fan. I hope the Tigers pounce on them and maul them tonight crushing the souls of every last one of their fans and the franchise is forced to disband.
