I think you might see some subtle changes in Orlando Hudson this year. The fact that the Padres wanted to move him and no other team wanted him should send a fairly powerful message to Hudson. I think the Padres want to see a lot less fraternazion between Hudson and other players at second -- Padres pitchers didn't exactly like Hudson chatting it up with hitters who had just pounded a run-scoring double. I totally agree with this observation

The one change I am looking for
is the name on the front of his uniform.

Same here
but starting to doubt that change will happen. I also doubt Hudson changes his actions or behavior much, if at all. He’s been playing and doing it his way for how long now? Hard for a tiger to change his stripes.

He’s a cancer that I’m begging someone to take.

He may be a cancer, but cancer cells are just good cells that went bad
Maybe the Padres kemotherapied his ass and fixed the problem. Other than him leaving a major attitude adjustment is the next best thing that could happen. He’s not a terrible player, just didn’t have his head screwed on straight.
Chemotherapy kills the cancer cells
Don’t think you wanna go there lol

He can chat up whoever he wants to
Just so long as he matches every double that he chats it up with with one of his own. I have no problem with somebody making nice with the other team so long as we’re actively beating them.

I never saw the Reds pitchers being mad at Sean Casey.

They tried to get pissed at him
and then they gazed into those oceans which are his eyes and all was forgotten.

does it matter?
The guy can change his attitude all he wants but his numbers still aren’t an upgrade from most utility guys you could throw in there on a on year deal. And I imagine they would cost a third of the price. He is only here in a two year deal as a favor from Moorad….Its good to be da King I guess.

One more year of Hudson then Spangenberg 2013...
That’s my optimism.

He can talk to whomever he wants, and be a dick to fans on twitter
as long as he plays good baseball.
This is a terrible thing for the Padres. - Jerry Coleman
Disagree
The first will piss off the pitchers (who are more important to the team than he is), and the second will piss off the fans (who are more important to the organization than he is since we pay their salaries). However playing good baseball would be a nice change…
Pitchers have friends on other teams too
Every home run Jake Peavy ever gave up was grooved to celebrate like engagements, birthdays, baptisms, etc.

I think fans and pitchers would be pretty forgiving of bad behavior
if he went out there and played like he did in 07,08, 09. Not that I think he will ever get back there, but if he could put up something somewhere in the middle of his career best as opposed to close to a career worst I would be willing to ignore more of his buffoonery.

Yes of course
There is a direct link between tolerance and production. If a player produces fans will tolerate just about anything, if he doesn’t, he needs to David Eckstien.
