Today in New Media vs Old Media

Sawvstrucker_medium
This is why everybody needs to be on Twitter. So you can see exchanges like this. You have Old School Hacksaw Lee Hamilton feeding a guy trolling him as personified by a Simpson's character. When I read this stuff on Twitter, I place people in their avatars, so I'm imagining a smiling Hacksaw, silently seething underneath, speaking to a cartoon character holding a rose piece of bacon on a fork. What's not to love? #REACTION

That's no rose...

…it’s a piece of steak on the end of a fork. Thank you. [read in Comic Book Guy voice]

Screw twitter

I’m still lukewarm on actually talking to people.

I love me some McDonalds...

I don’t really eat it a lot, but I could go for some fries with a Big Mac right about now. And/or a McRib… Or some McNuggets. DEEEELISH!!!

and twitter is amazing

these two tweet timelines exemplify that:

gilbert arenas live blogging a blind date:

and The Rock breaking the news of bin Laden’s death before every major media outlet:

I must be the only one who actually likes Hacksaw

His insane ramblings and abrasiveness are really enjoyable to listen to for some reason. And he’s nowhere near as bad as Darren Smith which helps too.

I like 1090's lineup

Hacksaw exemplifies angry semi-informed San Diego sports fan. Darren exemplifies smart, but super duper cynical long time transplant sports fan. Marty is the passionate local. The morning guys are the jokester almost-but-not-quite douchey jock sports fans. Coach Kintera is the old timer who watches high school sports. It’s like this perfect blend of San Diego representation. The most optimistic person on the station is relegated to producer who has to jump in whenever she can, much like real San Diego sports fans.

How much did they pay you for this reply?

Are you getting like a million team 1090 points? I’m saving mine up for a chance to win the Jillian Michaels – Ultimate Pilates Kit or the Total Chef Stainless-Steel Chocolate Fountain.

It's Quentin time.

I love Hacksaw!

The guy is hilarious. I know there are people who get angry because he seems to purposely stir the pot, but the guy is all about getting callers in to his show, so getting people heated about every topic imaginable is probably good for his show. Uninformed doesn’t seem like a terribly good description; people call in regarding every subject imaginable and the guy knows something about it. He’s ridiculous, looks even more ridiculous then he acts, but I enjoy him.

As for Darren Smith, I don’t care that he has some balanced approached, he is terrible radio. He rambles, he asks questions and pauses as if he is still doing a radio show with Philly Billy and waiting for him to reply, and he is downright patronizing at times. I usually flip over to 1360 when Darren comes on.
