Parrino particularly pivotal in procuring Padres victory

The Stay Puff Marshmallow man attacked Petco Park and Andy Parrino blew him up with a Proton Pack. For reals.

That was easily my favorite Padres game that I've watched from home this season.  I wish I would have gone but Jon is out of the country and he's the only one who will ever go with me.

The game started off with Aaron Harang retiring like 13 batters in a row.  It was a boring pitcher's duel until the 5th inning when the Padres scored three runs in less than 3 minutes.  Two of those runs came on singles by Will Venable and Orlando Hudson.  I know dudes, I was shocked too.  The last run on a throwing error.

The real highlight though was the back to back defensive plays by Andy "The Parrot" Parrino,   He made a diving stop up the middle to throw out the runner then mimicked the play again on the very next play.  Cray-zee!

Let me see if the Padres have posted the highlights yet... nope.  Hopefully they'll have them up soon.

Go Padres!

UPDATE:

Here's the video of Parrino flashing the leather

Those back-to-back plays by Parrino were amazing.

Rizzo made some nice stretches on them too. But my favorite moment of the night was the silence from Dodger fans when their “MVP” chant yielded a game-ending GIDP. That was definitely the most enjoyable Dodger game I’ve been to in ages.

those 2 plays remind me what was so great about Padres baseball

before 2011
Great pitching, crazy defensive plays (including Rizzo splits) and just enough timely hitting.

strong finish = good start

On the other hand, you have different fingers.

Went to the game

and wasn’t expecting such a big and energetic crowd going in. Crowd was just short of 40k and very lively.

Those Parrino plays definitely had all the Padre fans rocking and the Dodger fans quiet. Also nice to see Rizzo get another hit.

Let’s get em again today.

Mat Latos is the real deal...Go Lakers, Pads, and Bolts
