Game Thread: 9/20, Padres @ Rockies

San Diego Padres at Colorado Rockies, Sep 20, 2011 5:40 PM PDT

I've been a bad Padres fan this week.  I've completely missed the games Sunday and Monday and made no effort to find out what happened besides looking at the score.  Only 8 more games left and I'm fading.

Let's look over the game notes:

  • Mat Latos is making his 30th start...
  • The Padres haven't won back to back series since the end of June...
  • The Padres play .500 ball against the rest of the NL but are 24-43 against the NL West...
  • My favorite player Denorfia is hitting .424 since returning from the DL....

Yeah so enjoy this game, I'm going to try and catch the tail end of it.

Go Padres!

I’ll be in and out tonight, with Spanish and Math homework, and reading for Anthropology tomorrow.

Enough about me, how’s everyone doing tonight?

BRINGING THA HEAT

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

HEAT!

Game over!

Why ask a failed romance to come watch your successful one? You know, that's like inviting the Seattle Mariners to a World Series game. It's just weird for everyone.

26th career win for Mat Latos

That breaks a 4 way tie for 31 st to give him sole possession of the spot. He passed Matt Clement, Bob Owchinko and Goose Gossage.
