San Diego Padres prospects salivating as the MLB Padres lose again

"I must prove to father that I am as good as elder brother... UCHIHA FIRE RELEASE JUTSU!!!!"

If I'm a Padres prospect that isn't currently up with the club, I am really enjoying myself. There's a good chance that I'm in the minor league playoffs, actually winning games. The group of guys I'm with looks solid and I could see how, in maybe even by 2013, I could be up with the big club with this same group of guys that's cruising through the farm systems of other clubs. It's an exciting time.

It's not so exciting if you're mostly concerned with the big league club. Aaron Harang got smoked last night and gave up a ton of home runs. If you were to ask me about things I was pleased with this Padres season, I would've said, Aaron Harang and I would've thought of something else to go along with that like Nick Hundley or something. Now though? I dunno.

When a team built on defense and pitching starts to see its pitching and defense go, all we're left with is Jack and sh_t and the bucket just left town. Wait... Sh_t is in the bucket.... And Jack took the bucket with him... Or Jack stepped in a bucket full of sh_t... Something like that... Some combination of that is the Padres season. A bucket and some sh_t and a dude named Jack.

Can't believe I flew to San Francisco for that crap

On the plus side I managed to find a grand total of 11 Padres fans in AT&T Park (myself included) over the course of the night.

Sadly Fort Wayne and Eugene were just eliminated from their respective playoffs.

Fort Wayne was eliminated from the division finals of the Midwest League by the Lansing Lugnuts (TOR).

And Eugene also lost in the division finals but to the eventual Northwest League champs, the Vancouver Canadians(TOR).

On the bright side the Missions just took game one of the Texas League finals 5-4, against the Arkansas Travelers (LAA).

And Lake Elsinore advanced to the finals of the California League where they will face the Stockton Ports (OAK).

The Storm will be hosting the first two games of the finals this Thursday and Friday and I’m tempted to attend at least one of those games. Especially since it’s only a $5 ticket.
