Arizona Diamondbacks two field goals not enough for San Diego Padre touchdown
On the first real day of football, the Padres were able to score a touchdown and hold the Diamondbacks to only two field goals, which was enough to start the Padres off 1-0 to start NFL's regular season.
Running Back Cam Maybin had a great day, but the firepower of the offense came out of his backfield mate, fullback Nick Hundley. Rookie wideout James Darnell also made short work of the Diamondback secondary.
Head Coach Bud Black was criticized late in the game for shifting to a prevent defense, effectively letting the Diamondbacks score their two field goals, but was later hailed for the decision to let quarterback Heath Bell continue to throw to close out the fourth quarter.

Awesome.
Why ask a failed romance to come watch your successful one? You know, that's like inviting the Seattle Mariners to a World Series game. It's just weird for everyone.

Needs more prospect talk
The Padres are good, but make no mistake: we've gotta beef up the linwup.

Who on the Padres would be the kicker?
Because the Chargers are gonna need one.

Why does Black pull LeBlanc with two outs and men on every time?
Don’t say LeBlanc can’t work out of jams – he got one chance early last year and gave up
two runs in a 3-1 loss, and hasn’t had another chance since. A lot of runs charged to Wade
are scored when he’s in the dugout. LeBlanc led the team last year in inherited runners
charged to him after he left the game.
I see Bud’s action as a total lack of confidence. If he has such mistrust in Leblanc, why
doesn’t Bud start Bass? Could it be somebody else is insisting on using LeBlanc, over
Bud’s objections/preferences?
