#Padres have designated INF Jorge Cantu for assignment. Have 10 days to trade, release or placed on waivers. Opens a spot on 40 man roster.

Good riddance to bad rubbish? Bring on Jesus Guzman? Thoughts?

Pity he never panned out, had high hopes for him. Wanted him to be a good pinch hitter kinda like a Matt Stairs, but oh well

Can't blame Hoyer for this move but another bad one (Hawpe, Hudson, Harang(maybe))

have been talking for weeks about buying some maracas from old town to bust out to cantu’s music. at the very least, the dfa saves me some cash and some dignity (but we all know it probably saves us all a ton of grief).

I lament the loss of future opportunities to let loose with my grita at the game.

In a season of total suck, the enthusiasm in the crowd whenever his walk up music was played was one of the bright spots.
