I think we should offer free tickets to the military all week. Set aside three sections in the nosebleed area and welcome all military personnel and their families. It shouldn't be just about this mission. We should be saying, 'We appreciate what you've done in the past, what you're doing now, and what we're counting on you to do in the future.' Let's go above and beyond.

A proper tribute to the military by giving them nosebleed seats?
The Padres should take a little hit and give them better seats than that! They deserve it, after all.

I heard last night they put them in Toyota Terrace.
That would work.
They should do this, because the attendance at tonight’s and tomorrow’s games without giving 2 free seats to all military, is going to be sparse.
If it was 20,000 with the military that came, you can imagine what it will be without them.

I got field level seats with my military ID last night. Section 122.

I believe that we will win.
Pretty good section

You gotta buy a full season to get in there.

With a dependant card?
If it was, I should have gone down there last night
Why ask a failed romance to come watch your successful one? You know, that's like inviting the Seattle Mariners to a World Series game. It's just weird for everyone.
Exactly
It’s not like the Padres are losing revenue by kicking paying customers out of the seats to allow the military come for free. Plus, I’m sure the Padres are getting revenue from concessions from the military, that’s better than nothing.
Another plus is, there’s actually people in the seats, that’s gotta pump the players up a little, especially since it’s military personel.

Maybe they could issue them nosebleeds
and then after the third inning or something, they can work their way down to the best available seats- by showing their military ID, of course.

This may be a stretch....
But I think that Military should be able to get free tickets to ANY game (based on availability). I agree that they can’t be losing money by allowing someone to attend the game, even if they don’t buy anything at concessions. They could set certain restrictions – like they can only use this offer once a week or once a month or something and only allot a certain # of tickets. It could really boost attendance on weekday, non premier matchups (like tonight). Considering we are such a military town, what better way to show appreciation?!
Or better yet….if the team is (which is likely) unwilling to participate in something like this, the players could reserve a section for certain games and invite the military. I believe that there are times when this happens at Chargers games….
Is there not already a military discount all the time?
If not, a big military discount seems like an easy alternative.

I am not sure
If there is always a discount. But I am talking about FREE tickets like they did last night. If there is a discount in place, it’s obviously not enough to fill the seats.
idk about the fiscal feasibility of that
as you said we are a big military town…. but imagine how it would affect ticket sales if 0 active duty military or veterans paid for tickets anymore. i’m not saying i know how it would affect sales… but i’m sure it’s something to be considered.

That's why I said
It could be a once a month type of thing. I understand it’s not really feasible, just a crazy idea!
Military deals:
The Padres host the graduates from the Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Sunday home games.
Military in uniform gets half off tickets on Sundays.
Anyone with a military ID or a Padres Veterans’ Appreciation Card gets $6 off tickets for any game.
I need new pants.
I believe that we will win.

only bad part about the military discounts
is that you have to buy in person at the ticket office. It makes sense…as you would need to show ID or be in uniform, but it can be a hassle.

Uncommon Sportsman :: Absurdity in play
In the early days, the Padres gave away tickets to military bases, and wrote off the full price.
The Navy sold the tickets for a buck at Special Services.
The Marines would have some kind of unit contest, and the winners
went to the game for free as a group, in uniform, in Marine Corps buses.
Good facts.
I always wondered how they did that.

Free tickets are not going to be enough,
they are going tohave to pay them to come dow to Petco and watch this team play.
