The Padres have hit .320 through their first nine games this spring, the second best team batting average among all 30 Major League clubs.

But we traded Adrian!
How is this possible?!
It is meaningless
but it’s still surprising and something nice to see.
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? ◔ヮ◔

The Padres ARE facing major league pitching.
They’re just, you know, getting into shape and “working on stuff”.

At least the Padres got the traditional ill-timed gaffe out of the way early this year.
Every year it seems, the Padres do something that would be minor, except it comes at the worst possible time.
On Monday we had the first prime-time telecast of Spring, and the Padres got bombed by the lowly Royals – the day before they announced single game tickets were on sale. Way to cause a rush to the box office.
With that out of the way, we can look forward to the March buildup to the rolling juggernaut that will hit St.Loo on the 31st.
Worth mentioning
The Spring Training stat that has the highest correlation with regular season performance is Slugging Percentage. Which kind of makes sense when you think about. However, it requires huge gains in ST to see a little gain in regular season. Also, the correlation is still very, very small.
The National League West title was all but a lock,
Then they lost 10 in a row, ‘twas like a punch in the jock!
