This is a pretty good article headlining ESPN.com's Spring Training section.

This is why I don’t buy Padres jerseys.

Ironically, I just learned my lesson with a Legedu Naanee jersey.

I figured he was the safest bet beyond Rivers and Gates because he wasn’t good enough to out-price the team but not crappy enough to be released… forgot about drunken crime scenes. They get me every time.

Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.

East Coast just doesn't get it

Mat Latos is the real deal...Go Lakers, Pads, and Bolts

I think they got it pretty good

Jed knows who we are, we know who we are, and they now get it I think. The Padres aren’t what the East Coast is used to, but they finally can be like “well, they could still win games” and that definitely is progress as far as our rep goes.

I like that: The San Diego "Well, we could still win games" Padres

It’s really the use of “could” rather than “will” that does it for me. Because, like, they still need to earn that status. :-p

...then they should just

remove the names from the back
quite playing player’s intro music
and give interviews with their face blurred out and voice scrambled

I drink therefore I am.

make everyone who becomes a padre, legally change their name

To one of the players from the 98 or 84 world series teams. That would be awesome. Then no one would ever have to worry about buyers remorse ever again when buying a Jersey.
Problem solved.

I would request to have Bobby Brown's jersey from the 84 team

but only because of his name, and because he threw me a ball in the stands once. But mostly because of the name.

btw the comments after the story make me feel like I was raped in prison

absolutely NO Steve Finley love, and Giants fans acting like a bunch of twats (but then again, what else is new…).

GLB is like the nicer sort of prison. With blackjack. And hookers.

True

and I would also like to add that you’ve got a pretty mouth…

I went in May.

Even after Latos embarrassed the Giants for nine innings, the fans there were pretty polite.

Cheer for this

If you want us to cheer for the team name on the front, then take the player names off the back.

Particularly on a team like this years

Where half of it is new. I hate it when teams don’t have names on the jerseys…

Just a joke

It’s more an angry response to Moorad always saying it’s all about the team and not the player. In his world, if we don’t get attached to the player we’ll be forced to love the team.
