Padres reveal new Digital Camouflage Jerseys
As promised the Padres introduced their new Digital Camouflage Jerseys today at a Military Appreciation Luncheon. It's kind of hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like the Padres lettering is in the same color as the new caps.
Here it is- the #Padres new digital camouflage uniform, to be worn at all Sunday home games. @MLB http://yfrog.com/h0z4gjgj
Here's the first look of Heath Bell, Nick Hundley, Mat Latos and Will Venable modeling the jerseys:

Free PR lesson for everybody
If you’re going to unveil something new and cool, don’t do it with a fuzzy, unfocused pic from a BlackBerry.
End of lesson.

Are they undershirts
or do these jerseys have a green collar?
Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.
Jeez, could the quality of these pictures be any worse.

I don't think
you can wear a cover indoors without a duty belt.

That's right you can't, unless you're Army. Then, you can salute indoors too.
Still waiting for Matt Holliday to touch the plate.
it's not the Blackberry's fault
It’s the jerseys. They are designed to look blurry because it makes even Hundley and Bell appear to be moving quickly. they got the idea from Venable, ‘cause he’s so fast, his jersey’s always blurry.

Yeah...
Plus, it’s a digital image of a digital print, so it’s like a paradox. Or a double negative. Or something. It’s unclear.

Damn
Before I clicked on the pics to zoom in I thought I was looking at guys in military uniforms. If blending in with the troops was the goal the Pads have succeeded admirably.
It looks better than I thought it would.
I really like the white outline and the SD on the right sleeve.
I’m inclined to think that they moved the flag to the left sleeve just so now a bunch of people who don’t know anything about flag etiquette can’t say “Derp; it’s facing the wrong way. Derp.”

So, I guess the Padres are going back to road greys this year.

I don't know what to think about road greys being back.

The road grays from 1991 to 2003
were around longer than any other Padres uniform. For any fan who enjoys a modicum of image consistency, I don’t see how you can go wrong with them.

So, that leaves us with...
Road greys, which replaces sand
Home whites
Sunday Camo
Blue for alternate
Is that right?

Was that revealed today
Or is this the same speculation that’s been floating around for a while now?
On Facebook the Padres said that tommorrow they'll show off the new 2011 road greys.
Gaslamp Ball Game OT: "Makes you happy in the pants"
"Even Jedis don't stand a chance against our bullpen."
Damn...
I was hoping that it wasn’t true. However if they’re sticking with the same home and alt blue jersey it’s obvious sand isn’t going away completely which is good. But I will miss the sand jersey.
Jodes posted that above

That'll do.
I like it enough for a jersey that is going to be worn infrequently.
I am much more interested in the new road unis.
I like them
I like the grey accents more than the green.
Can’t wait to see the road greys tomorrow even though I’m a big sand supporter.

Not enough contrast between the lettering and the jersey
Yeah, yeah; I get it if they want to “blend in”, but…There’s no need for cover and concealment here boys! You’re not taking a hill (well…I guess the pitcher is)…but you get my point. Standard camouflage looks better than this on Jerseys. This just looks like…“Blah!”

I like them.
And I like the switch to the road greys. I HATE the sand on sand look. It drives me crazy. But that’s just one of my little ocd tendencies at work, I think, haha

Even more reason to buy one
When replicas of the new camouflage uniforms become available in Padres stores, each will carry an official approval from the Marine Corps. A portion of each sale will benefit the Marine Corps Assistance Program.

Not only that but they’re the only garment I know of that is officially licensed to carry the Marines actual digital camo pattern.
