Dude was amazing last night, although I was a bit nervous after watching him in the bullpen to warm-up because his command was off. Glad he got it together when it mattered. The lady behind us kept calling him “Lube-kuh-bee” the entire night, and all we could think of was this:
Congrats to the Padres on the sweep. Starting pitching from the Friars was outstanding this series. From my perspective, the best things about the series were that the Giants didn’t get any help from the Dodgers and this little gem of a headline from TBLA scribe Eric Stephens.
I really hope the Padres can hold on for the rest of the season, obviously because of my hatred of the Giants, but also because it’s been fun to see San Diego energized about the team this year and because the GLB’ers here deserve another moment in the post-season sun.
Congrats again, gang – the Pads have my full support! (and don’t forget to look for my cameo appearance this season on Terriers where David Wells and I are sitting in the window of Cheswick’s throwing back a couple tall cans of PBR!)
